Kelli Jordan began working as a paralegal in 1995 in South Dakota where she worked in civil litigation (medical and legal malpractice) and criminal litigation. She moved to Minnesota in 1997 and quickly found her calling working in family law. She was fortunate to work with top family law attorneys in Minnesota. Kelli has more than 20 years of experience working collaboratively with attorneys and clients on a wide variety of simple to complex family law cases.
As a freelance virtual paralegal, Kelli drafts initial pleadings, motion documents, Judgment and Decrees (stipulated, pre-trial, and post-trial) and informal and formal discovery requests and responses. She has extensive experience with trial preparation, including: drafting exhibit lists and witness lists, preparing trial exhibits and trial exhibit summary charts, drafting witness questions, and attending trial to assist with witness and exhibit coordination.
Kelli is a Certified Divorce Financial Analyst practitioner specializing in the preparation of marital standard of living analyses. As part of that process, she also works with clients to prepare credible post-divorce budgets. Lisa Thoreson began working as a paralegal in 1996. She joined Minnesota-based law firm Henson & Efron in 1998, where she was part of a top-rated family law group for 20 years. She was involved in various complex family law litigation cases, gathering and exchanging documents and information, drafting documents, preparing for hearings and settlement conferences, and assisting at trials.
Lisa works primarily with attorneys on cases involving marital dissolutions, complex financial issues, the division of high net worth marital estates, spousal maintenance, child support, child custody, and parenting time, but has the ability to work on any type of case. Lisa is proficient in writing and investigating, skills she refined in college while obtaining her bachelor’s degree in journalism.
Lisa also works with clients and attorneys to determine clients’ marital standard of living and necessary living expenses. She identifies and assists in gathering necessary documents, analyzes historical spending, consults with clients, prepares reports, and testifies at trial.
